Self Expressions

When I look at this picture it reminds of when people go on the Maury show pictures with ghosts in them. I now realize how easy it is to tell someone you caught a ghost in your photo. This project taught me to never believe someone when they claim they caught a ghost in their picture because they could have just easily photoshopped it.

When I look at the next picture it reminds me of a movie called From Dusk Til Dawn. There was an evil vampire in the movie with identical red eyes, I guess thats the reason that movie is the first thing to come to mind when I see the picture.

The thing I like most about my image is the sky. My favorite tool in photoshop thus far would have to be blending options and opacity. I feel good about my photoshop knowledge so far, I feel like Im exactly where I should be.

surrealism

The very first step I took into this project was creating a theme. I used the theme sports and it was the bases of my project. Its a picture on the moon and I rearranged the planets and turned them into different types of balls. I also used the lens flare to make sort of a supernova. I chose to use Yao Ming as my alien and I added a ladder from the basketball that Yao Ming comes out of. I took a picture of myself so I could show some emotion, and act shocked to see the alien

Metaphor

The pressure of school is like a vice and my head the walnut the pressure is forced upon.

I chose this metaphor because it explains how I feel about school and the pressure of graduating. Overall I think my concept was good. The project was alot easier because I actually put thought and brainstormed before I started. I also feel great about the composition, I think I did a great job putting things in place.

Iso

Iso is the speed of how fast the camera pulls the light into a picture. I didnt successfully use the tool correctly as you can see in the photos. If the project was done the correct way the light in the pictures would differ in every photo. The reason you would change and use iso instead of flash is because with iso you can get the exact amount of light you want in the photo. When using fast iso you have to be very steady because the pictures will be very blurry.

Fill in flash

Fill in flash is a camera tool. It can be used to add light to pictures taken in dark places, or it can be used to take away uneccessary shadows. In the first photo of myself the fill in flash was on and you can see clearly there is no shadows in the photo. In the second photo the fill in flash was off and now the natural shadows that should have been in the first picture are now in the second picture.

metering

The objective was to take two photos with metering. Metering is when the camera measures the light in a picture. In the two photos I took, I didnt accomplish the objective. If I would have did it correctly you would see a major difference in the light of the two pictures. This tool helps you when there is lots of light or too little light.

We then followed this tutorial found at http://www.voidix.com/eye_manipulation.html to give us ideas and practice combining images, reversing natural laws, transforming objects and using Photoshop to create a realistic surrealistic scene. The one thing Ii liked most about this tutorial was when we went and added shadows behind the leavesto make them look more realistic

Effects

In this project the objective was to add effects to pictures we had already taken. The different effects we had to play with was glow, cross process, and emphasis. Out of all three of them, my favorite effect was emphasis. I photoshopped the picture and I added an effect called plastic wrap, which makes everything in the picture looks like its wrapped in plastic.

Frames

In this assignment the objective was to take a photo that contained both myself and a frame. My favorite picture out of both of them was the last one because the other looks more like a mugshot then an artistic picture. I feel that the shadow of the shadow coming across the picture adds an artistic feel.

color

The objective of this assignment was to take a photo capturing color. I like my photo because I feel that I used color well in the picture. The thing i could do better in the future is make sure that there is nobody in the background the next time

Group Collaboration

In this assignment the objective was to take a group photo. The thing that was most difficult about taking the group photos was composition and finding ways to pose with the entire group. If I had to take another group photo, the thing i would do differently is changing the way we posed it was to simple.
